Infographic: How much sugar do you eat in a year?

I love this Infographic because it's a real eye opener. I work with clients every day that underestimate their sugar consumption and the NIH says this can lead to a slew of other problems including metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and chronic mineral deficiencies especially with magnesium, calcium, and potassium. These minerals are all absolutely necessary for regular processes of cellular life and it can sometimes take years to fully recover from these deficiencies.

"Canadians eat an astounding 88 pounds of sugar per year—it’s about one in every five calories we consume. But a growing number of doctors and experts say this cherished ingredient could be harming our health." - Maclean's

I urge you all to take this information to heart, and take steps to reduce your refined sugar intake!
